STILL LIFE: THE DEPICTION OF THINGS
The STILL LIFE is one of the most time honored artistic traditions. The magic of the still life is the transcendence of the artist's vision over everyday -- sometimes mundane --subject matter. From Edward Weston's peppers to Peter Hujars's tenement debris to Irving Penn's frozen vegetables, the still life magically transforms the flotsam and jetsam of our ordinary lives into fine art. This time 1650 Gallery showcases an group exhibition of the still life.
39 works have be chosen from submitted photographs to be included in the STILL LIFE exhibition at 1650 Gallery in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
